>>26616990Other than promos that come in tins and special boxes, promo cards don't come with a code card for PTCGO.
That means the ONLY way to get a majority of promo cards, such as this Meganium Prime, are via the weekly bundles. Meaning after this bundle is gone, you probably won't ever have another chance of getting this Meganium from the store. This means that a shitload of cards online are unobtainable until the staff gets generous.
Of course, players in Canada can get a tradable copy by paying actual money via gems. But since gems are expensive (this bundle costs $6.50, for example) and since barely anyone even lives in Canada, this means these promo cards end up trading for a LOT. Before this week's bundle, this Meganium could easily go for over 100 packs since it hasn't been available in months/years on top of being rare.
Of course, this doesn't really matter to a non-collector when it comes to promos that are merely alternate art like this Meganium, but then there are cards like pic related which are competitively viable. Currently, the only way to get this Jirachi is to trade it off someone who bought it with gems when it was a bundle months ago. They go for 40~100 packs each.
So it's smart to always get the bundle, because you absolutely don't want to lock yourself out of a card and kick yourself for it in the future. Buying single packs is a waste for the most part since you can always trade for everything you need, especially since you can count the Standard cards worth more than 1-2 packs on one hand. Bundles also generally come with price-efficient packs, too.
