Man, I admit I've played Reborn way more than one man should (twice, but still) and honestly for a lot of it I can't help but feel like a devil's advocate at times, because damnit I genuinely find myself singing praises over the gameplay. Sure the Fields can be bullshit, but like, I want to see more bullshit you have to actively prepare for in Pokemon games, and I adore the environments and the exploration and god damnit if the story wasn't as bad as what it fucking is this would be a clear winner for the best fangame, but as it stands it's genuinely high quality, even the story is good in a "you literally have no idea what to expect" way. Seriously who'd-a thought we'd see lesbians having a nice fall off a cliff.
I hate that I take note of actually pretty good little story beats too, like the fight against Pulse Abra being you assisting Meteor bastards with dealing with a fuckup of a project before their leader comes in. It's surprisingly comedic in a weird way. Much better than literally any of the familial drama you deal with WAY too often. Also I have a distinct hatred for Saphira I cannot explain.
Also no, I have yet to play Rejuvenation but it's definitely in my backlog. I assume it's similarly insane?
