My own suggestions:
Story A: Reese and Malcolm enter a VGC Tournament in their local area. Malcolm has a team but Reese on the other hand, does not. What does Reese do? First, he resorts to bullying Malcolm threatens to release his Pokemon and record a video of Malcolm's ensuing reaction, showing it to all of his friends and making a fool of Malcolm. Next, Reese decides to use Pokegen (RIP) to copy his team and likely win the tournament.
Story B: Dewey is secretly staying up late crafting his own contending team. Malcolm nor Reese know that Dewey still plays Pokemon, but they begin to see how odd he is acting lately, saying he'll beat them in everything.
Resolution: Malcolm and Reese are entered in the tournament, and as fate will have it, they face eachother in the Regional Semi-Finals after thrashing their previous competition.
*Montage of Malcolm and Reese demolishing their opponents*
When they finally face eachother, they are shocked. Malcolm sends out his first Pokemon only to find that Reese's Pokemon is identical. Later in the match, Malcolm realizes that Reese has copied his whole team. The officials recieve word of this and disqualify Reese for using cheated Pokemon. Malcolm wins his next match and faces none other than Dewey in the Regional Finals.
Malcolm is shocked. "Dewey! What the hell are you doing here"
"I'm your next opponent." Dewey says.
The battle starts and is an easy win for Dewey, who goes on the win the Regional and later, United States Championship, earning a boatload of cash that Malcolm and Reese cannot touch.
The episode ends with Dewey in his room throwing cash at a lapdancer, with Malcolm and Reese in jealousy and shock.
