I’m thinking about drafting a story about a 20-something Devon codemonkey whose only Pokémon are the low-level mons he’s had since he was a kid. Some dickwad engineer won’t shut up about getting saved by a kid prodigy Pokémon trainer in the woods, and finally the code monkey’s dissatisfaction with his safe-but-boring life comes to a boiling point; he sells most of his possessions and cashes in his savings, ends a strained relationship, and leaves everything but his childhood Pokémon behind to start his journey. Kind of a “never too late to start living life” deal, and it can take place alongside the events of Gen 3 to have exciting stuff going on without making the world revolve around muh OC.
I dunno, I’m going to sleep now, will see how I feel about the idea in the morning.
