I am not sure how many people know this, but if you play with a specific style, XY is actually challenging and one of the most fun experiences in the series.

How to do it:
Just fill up your dex and rotate the party every now and then. At the start have your starter and something like beedrill, dunsparce etc and depending on their lvl and strenght you should rotate them around when you arrive at Lumios city with other mons you have caught and the kanto starter.
Eventually you can bring them back and make them catch up with the share and use them for a route or gym. Then rinse and repeat. With this playstyle your pokemon always stay at their intended lvl and you get to experiment with new/old pokemon you have never used before.
With this method I was for example able to use an even lvl beedril on the fairy gym.
Other thing to note is that "empty" team slots should be for leveling up weak mons so they evolve.

I really suggest this out. It makes you like many mons you may not have used before and the Kalos dex is massive giving you a lot of choices.

Is being tied to France heavily the thing which gives it such potential? Even these days it has been able to keep its title even after SM which were at the very least an explosion of nsfw material if nothing more.

I have been curretly reading a new comic with nsfw themes about a beaty and the tough life in Kalos as a model. It is all fan-made world building and it just keeps going.
It got me thinking why Kalos has so much damn potential and I want to hear the thoughts of you anons regarding the region. Also please share fan works in this thread.

A few takes of mine of the top of my head, mostly focused on the region itself

>Around 3 new towns for Southern Kalos, Biggest one inspired by Monte Carlo
>New area connecting Kiloude City to Vanivile Town
>Power Plant finally accessable
>Expanded sea route from Ambrette town
>Tower of Mastery reworked into a Battle arena focusing on Mega Evolutions
>Underground Lumiose, a dungeon inspred by Paris Catacombs
>New Route stretching from Aquacorde town to Glittering Cave
>Xerneas and Yveltal finally given their own unique locations, new forest for Xerneas and new mountain for Yveltal

Maybe not too realistic, but would be nice to see the region finally get its due
