>>46049773No, the games were my definition of Pokémon. I never thought "I want these to feel more like the anime or Special". In fact, the one manga I wanted to actually seek out was Zensho which seemed to try adapt the games closer to what actually happens.
Even looking at your picture of Special makes me cringe. Like that wasn't the world I fell in love with, that wasn't the world Game Freak envisioned and created. Same with the anime. Ash and Pikachu are not my image of what Pokémon is or should be.
Yes, this picture has Pikachu and Charizard, but they don't feel like mascots. They feel like some of the monsters you'll be encountering, and the real draw is the competitive glare between the protagonist and rival.
