They still suffer what pretty much all major characters in this game suffer from: a terminal case of "2special4u character design of the deviant art strain."
Really none of the MC designs look like MC designs for Pokemon. Too super special, rather than more toned down and kind of average looking for the setting, Same with the rivals. Just way too out there.
