There's no real way of resolving it, either. Either Ingo goes back to his proper time in Unova and abandons his clan and his duties for a time and people he can't remember, or he's stuck permanently in Hisui and this happens.

This is why GameFreak isn't gonna touch it and they'll just dump him back in Unova in the remakes with no explanation as to why or how that happened.
