that reminds me; mew is a fetus. it has to do with the theory that all life forms looked really similar as fetuses, then they grow to look different. this would explain why it can transform into any pokemon, and why its described as the first pokemon.
also, the tail is an umbilical chord.
of course, as time went on, they made mew less horrifying looking and more cute and catlike, but here, hes lookin pretty fetusy
