And it's not as if they don't have form for making side characters' aces disappear when Ash gets his own in the show (Kukui/Royal Mask's Incineroar has been AWOL since Ash's Torracat beat it and evolved). They WOULDN'T have given Ash a Gegar, if they had plans to show off its Gmax with Allister, just like Ash's Pikachu is the only to have the Gmax factor, TR's Meowth the only one around with Gmax and I guarantee Koharu's Eevee can't evolve as IT has the Gmax factor too.
Because as much as your incel brain rejects the notion, the gimmick of the Gen is Dynamax/Gigantamax, which is why it's been the one most heavily focused on so far.
