Dark Souls doesn't give you Ornstein and Smough after the Asylum Demon. When Kanto gym leaders are averaging low-mid 40s, followed by Blue who uses mid-high 50's, followed by Red who uses low to high 70's, you end up with a level curve that is complete shit and is improperly balanced, being skewed towards the high end at the very end when there's <5% of the content left. It's absolutely terrible and should have been smoother throughout.
