At some point in time pokémon showed up and started getting rid of regular animals, and then of humans. They wanted to take over the earth.

We fought back, and we lost.

But instead of killing us off, they allowed us to stay alive and came up with the current world order.

It has been this way for a long time, so much so that the newer generations(the player character in each game) can't remember the "old days", every record of the "old days" has been erased and those who do remember them prefer things as they are.

Pokémon bring the best out of people and help keep them in check. With them around murders, rapes and wars don't happen, and we like it that way. We allow ourselves to remain conquered.

It's not even about the money, or about the handheld itself.

It's about my irrational fear of walking into a game store and taking a pokémon game to the register.

I've tried, actually walked into the store, held the game in my hands, looked at the cover and the back-cover extensivelly, sweating profuselly and just couldn't bring myself to do it.
