It feels like this was the only Contest that had an adequate build to it in BF. All of them up to this point were only one episode, due to the constrained schedule. There hasn't been a lot of new Pokemon catches either. When I first watched XY and sat through the first season's glacial pacing, I never thought I'd want things to go slower in Pokemon, but BF is a good example of too much too quickly.
I went into the first episode of this arc thinking that Harley was "joining" Team Rocket to keep them from fucking over May (the over the top and never-happening flashback to his childhood sealed the deal for ridiculousness) as a face turn. But no, Harley is just that despicable. I love him so much. I wish Ash had a rival that was as fun to watch and nefarious as Harley is to May. Maybe Paul in DP is? Either way, the biggest downside to AG is that Ash's main rivals were Morrison (Ritchie 2.0) and Tyson (cool, but kind of bland).
