A fire-type wall would be more distinct in later games, to be sure, when Flareon has the means to be more defensive. In Gen 1, though, it would change Flareon from being the stronger Arcanine you had to babysit to not much of anything, as fire moves will be it's only powerful attacks and it's support moves are nearly nil.
