>>54693773Kalos is a bizarre mishmash of biomes and cultures. You literally just have to look at the map and it looks like a patchwork, where a bunch of landmarks stand out like sore thumbs. Lumiose is a major city fucking walled off form the outside with no metropolitan area to speak off. There's a desert arbitrarily in the middle of a grassy field with rivers running through it (yeah the Unova desert was weird too but at least it encompasses the whole Castelia peninsula), there's a belt of snowy fields that somehow misses all the mountains save for one and just stops short of Anistar and Couriway.
Alola is fine, the biomes reflect actual tropical islands pretty well and the urbanization of real life Hawaii. They atually put some thought into how each island is distinct, like Poni being largely wilderness and Melemele being more developed like real life Oahu.
