The entirety of left is what I wanted as a kid for Pokemon, no amount of bitching from others will change my mind. I caved in for Scarlet/Violet because I had too much faith in gamefreak, and that faith was well placed thanks to overworld encounters and open world

For battle facility, I miss the presentation of the battle frontier in Emerald, after that it became soulless tents which strips the fun of exploring them. I also was hoping for a casualized experience for ORAS (At least a way to stay on your grade and only lose steps if you get defeated), but that went to shit completely

People can shit all they want on super, but to me it has the most comfortable starting setting despite the blatant bullshit. Froakie jumping around like a little spaz made it great.

He's meant to be just a friendly rival at first but later on he gets pulled into helping the villain team unknowingly. After the whole bullshit legendary thing, he redeem himself by becoming the champion

The battle theme should be your usual comfy rival battle and stays at it is until later when he tries to stop you while thinking he's doing the right thing where his battle theme takes a sadder tune. When you fight him for the Champion theme, you get a blazing fucking nice theme

Went with Yellow as a kid since i tried out Red at a buddy's place but wasn't interested in continuing it until the pokecraze began with the anime. For the rest of my choices, i usually went with the legendary that was more badass to get. Moon was the exception since it was decrypted soon enough with a outline patch

You got several choices, anon. But i suggest getting emulators to emulate the first five generations.

>Visualboy advance for Pokemon red/blue/yellow, silver/gold/crystal, firered/Leafgreen, pokemon mystery dungeon red, ruby/sapphire/Emerald (Emerald being the third version)
>Project64 for Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, also with the right plugin you can connect your red/blue/yellow and silver/gold/crystal files
>Dolphin to play Pokemon Colossus and Pokemon Gale of Darkness, not sure if you can cross your saves with Pokemon r/s/e
>Desmume for Diamond/Pearl/Platinum(Platinum is the third version), Heart Gold/Soul Silver, pokemon mystery dungeon blue (same thing as red), pokemon mystery dungeon time/darkness/Sky (Sky being the third version), Black/White, Black/White 2 (Sequel to Black/White), Pokemon Ranger series

For X/Y, Sun/Moon, Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby, Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, you can pickup Citra if your PC can handle it, but otherwise you can get yourself a New 3DS and comfy it up.

There's two ways you can play the mainline to get the most of it

>Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, Black/white, Black 2/White 2, x/y, Ultra Moon/Ultra Sun
>Firered/Leafgreen, Heart Gold/Soul Silver, Emeral, Platinum, Black/white, Black 2/White 2, X/Y, Ultra Moon/Ultra Sun

Firered and Heart Gold are both remaster that adds plenty of shit to gen 1 and 2. HG/SS itself has your pokemon in the lead follow you and they actually fixed the gimped out Kanto. Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby removes plenty of features from Emerald so you can skip it unless you want to play ruby/sapphire with better graphics. Ultra Moon and Ultra sun are just better version of Moon and Sun

Gen 1's aesthetic were meh, i didn't like playing pokemon at first since i only had a test drive and the anime wasn't out to give me an insensitive to play. Once Yellow was out, it's was enough for me to get it because walking around with a pikachu following me around was just enough to get me through the game.

Gen 2 was the first to feature color, and so day/night/morning. That was the comfiest shit. Checking what pokemon could appear at what time was fun, plus the aesthetic helped out since Kanto was more of a urban feel, while Johto was more of a comfy japan setting instead of copy-pasta buildings. Plus you get back to Kanto even if it's was gimped down.

As for the newer games, they're comfy as well. I like where they are going with Pokemon games, having a different perspective is great since you get to see more of what's around you. Sure, there's plenty of talking, but they'll eventually find a proper balance. I just wish they'd focus a bit more on adventuring for the next game

Man, i absolutely loved Silver compared to the first generation of pokemon. Charmander, a buddy had me playing his Pokemon red since he wanted me to see how it's was. I took Charmander, and i went all the way to Brock to kick his ass, but it's didn't sparks much interest for me.

Luckily, the anime got out not long after and Pokemon Yellow had me hyped like shit because of how you can walk with your Pikachu.
