That the OG assnime hasn't been good since the early 2000s. And even then not every episode was perfect. Trying to binge pokemon is like trying to eat too many spicy peppers because the more you watch the more you realize that it just repeats the same fucking formula with team dick-suckula and the brooklin cat showing up with a giant mechazord to get insta-yeeted by the pokemon of the episode. Ass never progresses, his side characters are miiiiiiid. Pikachu fucking JOBS.
Wheras horizons is cute, colorful, lovable, fresh, the animation is mostly nice. Its got a flying zepplin they all ride on. The crewmembers are all unique and interesting. Liko and Roy get proper screen time as the mc without feeling like we're utterly chained to them. The villains fucking rock, and are mostly competent. They have sleek outfits and reasonable motivations.
I mean it's the 2024 version of pokemon, the truly phenomenal peak storyline, after years of fine-tuning the mess that was the assnime, they finally got it right. Thank god.
