As if Ryu Hayabusa and Strider Hiryu weren't the obvious main inspirations, with Greninja looking identical to the latter up to his running animation, which is actually a replica of a real Ninja Run instead of typical Naruto shit. Every time i see people thinking Naruto when they see Greninja, i know for certain it's pure projection because Naruto is the only Ninja shit they know about.
