Hardcore Pokemon fans have been bitching about the franchise decay since the mid 2010s.

The switch from 2D to 3D came with a lot of changes and dropped content for the sake of meeting a yearly schedule. This came to a climax this year with the announcement that now even Pokemon would be dropped in a 100% clear attempt at getting people to sign up for a monthly service fee to keep their living Dexs alive.

What followed was a shitshow of Gamefreak PR not giving a fuck about assuaging the ego of the hard core fans, hard core fans growing increasingly vocal, and casual fans growing upset that the "hype season" where they get to feel a part of a community for 2 weeks where they care about these games was being ruined for them.

The crux of the issue is the assumption that the success of these games will set the precedent for the next few years of Pokemon and that only either a failure(impossible) or an under performance(unlikely) would cause the money hungry investors to course correct from rushing down and stripping the franchise of everything that made it special.

Unfortunately it looks like Gacha has conditioned Paypigs too well, and we are entering the era where Pokemon will slowly lose what made it special and it'll just become another brand.

If you only care about Pokemon for 2 weeks a year, you don't suffer much a loss though, and if you have no standards you don't either, but for those who do, well shit they're better off making their own monster game, hording unique designs and developing their own unique enough battle system that they can strike hard when Pokemon suffers a decline finally from either over saturation or lack of quality control like Yokai Watch did before they got too greedy and fucked their own brand up

Why would i agree to that?
You devalue shinies. I only ever got one myself and it was a bred green swiftswim shellsmash huntail that i value incredibly. I traded others for theirs in school.
Then i pirated sun and moon and shiny hunted fucking 14 pokemon before the game even hit the street date.
When every pokemon is shiny, no one is.
Shinies don't mean shit any more.

The things shill want you to fail to understand is that your voice does matter. They want to paint a picture that your voice would have only mattered if this game was a flop. That's not the case. As the consumer, your power is making this game under preform. That's your power.

Because Companies are always chasing the market that isn't domesticated. That's why games get made easier and simpler or rushed out more. To try and get the new markets. Nintendo did this during the Wii era and that led to the Wii U and we all know what happened with the Wii U. Nintendo understands this, and if Gamefreak/TPCi start make the Pokemon equivalent of the Wii U, they aren't just going to sit around.

Especially since Pokemon Go proved that Gamefreak isn't a necessity to make a Pokemon game sell. Your voice matter. Your sales matter, because if this game under preforms to expectations. things will change. This happened during the Gen 5-Gen 6 era. When Kanto pandering reached the fever pitch.

Don't give up or cave in. Don't let yourself be a cow. The only one who can make your voice no matter is you. Final Fantasy 14 is only the success it is now because it failed so hard and was forced to deal with that failure.

Final Fantasy 14 and the Wii U weren't failures at launch, but because people didn't just cave in the rot was exposed and recovery was possible. Don't give up
