Monferno beat Gardenia without a hitch. Buneary died to a trainer's Abra with Hidden Power Fighting. One of the few random trainers to use TMs. (Though ironically, if I hadn't taken off the Chople it might've lived.) I wasn't keeping Lopunny long-term but this will make Fantina more difficult since I don't have a plan for her.
I opted to use Honey over waiting for Drifloon so we used the Valley Windworks encounter on Mothim. You'd think he'd be a mixed attacker based on the stat spread but 99% of the moves he learns are special. Oh well, maybe I'll give him U-turn or something. Not sure what I expect him to do, to be honest. I'm also planning on getting another ghost encounter down the line because I think it could be fun(?)
I'm worried about Jupiter's Zubat since my whole team is weak to flying. We'll see what happens. Also, I've decided to let Budew level up, missed moves be damned. You get access to the Move Reminder relatively early anyways.
>>55709664Natural selection at work.
>>55709725Fair enough. I low-key think they removed these pokemon because most of them are easy Fantina counters.
>>55709873They might be outclassed role-wise but they still give you useful typings. For example, Electric types would be a lot more difficult to deal with. Also, cool shiny Gastly!
Running around for happiness grinding takes SO long. I'm not sure if GameFreak expects you to walk around more but pic has the number of steps I've taken since getting the Poketch (I caught Budew shortly after, should've reset it but oh well.) I'm curious what level other people managed to evolve Budew at. The most frustrating thing is that walking around isn't even a guaranteed chance to raise happiness so you have no idea how high your happiness is.
>>55710843Unfortunately I'll have to save Drifloon for next time. Seems like a cheesy mon, doesn't seem awful on paper.
>>55711461Nice saga anon, almost makes me want to pick up X again.
