I went to Pokemon Center NY back in 2003. I know it was 2003 because they were promoting the imminent release of Pokemon Channel which released that holiday season.
The only thing I can really remember is there being a wall with little figurines of every single Pokemon. Blaziken was my first favorite Pokemon that wasn't Pikachu so I really wanted one of those, but it was sold out and I settled for a Combusken instead. I can't for the life of me find a good picture of the rows of Pokemon figures and there is basically next to nothing documented about the place online. Pretty lame.
Picture is not me, it's one of the dozen or so pictures of the interior of Pokemon Center NY we have.
I visited Nintendo World a couple times as well, in 2006 (got Mystery Dungeon Blue around then for my birthday in October) and then in 2008 when they were promoting Wario Land Shake It. On one of these trips I bought a Mario Party 5 Luigi plushie that's worth $200+ in good condition nowadays and is apparently pretty fucking rare, mine is in bad shape now and I'm not going to sell it anyway. I just wanted a Luigi plushie.
