There's a million different ways to make a great picture, but all of them require effort and a lot of it.
You can't train an AI to make pictures like Hizuki Akira. Hizuki Akira's illustrations are beautiful and lascivious because he truly loves Natsume from the bottom of his soul and that love informs every fiber of his being and every step of his creative process. Until you can make a robot fall in love they won't be able to make art of that caliber.
Yes, he didn't design the character, so in some sense he is "stealing". But there's a world of difference between a passionate inspiration that lights an artist's soul on fire and an emotionless algorithm that has no idea what it's doing.
AI art is improving and will continue to improve, and people who use AI to make art will make great art. But effort will be required. All great art is the result of someone pouring their essence into their creation. AI is a powerful tool, not a shortcut past the human spirit.
