Made it about halfway through an ADV rewatch, and this episode, 72 episodes in, is probably the first time even the concept of MayxAsh is brought up. Basically, May and Ash are arguing over temperamental differences, and a couple of Rose of Versailles CotD references challenge them to a tag battle and keep calling them a couple. Of course, this being Pokémon, both May and Ash deny it.
Unlike the Misty stuff in the OS, though, I...actually kind of believe that they're not really into each other that way. Not only does May have a more prominent option with Drew, but Ash seems to be on a pretty standard "fuck bitches, get badges" kick, though not nearly to the extent that Zombie Ash gets in later seasons. I'm interested to see whether this changes by the end of ADV.
