>Shuckle - Bug/Poison
Human settlements have displaced a lot of wild Pokemon, so Shuckle evolved into a more natural state rather than a pacifistic one. Shell is now covered in spines and their design resembles a Spiny from Mario.
>Chikorita line - pure Grass until Meganium, then Grass/Fairy
Influence by magic of the region. First two stages have slight visual differences, like a white petal attached to their leaf. Meganium looks more "enchanted" and fey like.

Being in an industrious region where Pokemon were put into hard labor during the Industrial Revolution pushed this line to become more powerful, turning them into a literal volcanic storm (hence the Electric typing)
>Totodile line - pure Water until Feraligatr, then Water/Steel
Emulating the chivalrous knights, it takes on an armored appearance upon evolving. It has a more calm disposition, but its actually a lot tougher.
