That would be like surgically attaching a Blue Orchard to a Rose and expecting them to work together. Their different biology would immediately cancel any sort of connection between the two, even if they're both "plants".
Though, if two different Grass Types (purely the plant based ones) were grown on the same soil at the same time, their roots might intertwine, and theres a chance they'll be more "connected" in a mental sense ( Or physically too, if you want a floral hivemind )
