Wew lads, that was one hell of a fight. Took several retries to come up with a strategy that worked. Initially started out with Harden spam to get beefy for his Pidgeotto, but it only uses Gust, so that went out the window fast. Tried to Poison/Potion stall it out, but the goddamn thing knows Roost. Turned into an RNG-fest of a Sand Attacked Beedrill getting the right number of Fury Attacks (plus any crits) on a Pidgeotto that was low enough to finish from that point with a lucky roll, but not so low that it had already popped Roost. Left it with just a hair of health on a lucky four-attack one-crit roll, and Poison tick did the rest.
Next on Hachi's to-do list: traversing Union Cave and rescuing Slowpokes!
(On a side note, Fury Attack has a worrying propensity for rolling twos. Not boding well for Pin Missile- I think I'll be sticking with U-Turn this game! And man, there are virtually no good TMs in HGSS's main game. Brick Break and Double Team both are locked behind the Frontier. Gonna be a tough run!)
