>>21150878So my sister and Sam went off to a roaring start, I'm sure most of you remember playing Blue or a remake of it, Squirtle stomps the first gym with bubble, yadda. My sister was never really good at figuring out type advantage or how types interacted with one another. I remember studying for an exam, and my little sister barges into my room looking terrified. She's tugging on my shirt to come and help her. So I follow her and it turns out she's been trying to use tackle on Brock's Geodude and was getting scared from the beeping that happens at critical health. It was one of those moments where you have to stifle a laugh, I just remember being like
>"So tell me, when you go into the attack menu, what do you see above the names of your moves">My sister in tears respond "I-I don't know that word" pointing to normal>"You know that certain Pokemon are weak against certain types right?">she shakes her head as I gently push down on the d-pad "See, that says normal, and normal isn't strong against rock, however, if you do this...">I put her thumb on the d-pad and put it on bubble "See how it says water? use that instead, trust me" >So she presses the a button and one shots the geodude.. She started yelling in joy and jumped to hug me telling me I was the "bestest big brother ever". It's kind of an easy title to get when you're the only son in the family, but, hey, I wouldn't trade it for the world after that. She still has a lot of trouble with some types, like ice affecting round, but, she's starting to get the hang of it. She's not tackling geodudes anymore.
