>>57135195Grew up in the great beautiful north, trapped in the fucking total hellhole known as Texas for family reasons. It hasn't felt like Christmas once without snow. There's something that's incredibly comfortable and warm about snow, be it from your window, watching snowflakes fall and cover your freshly powdered yard, or listening to the pleasant sound of snow crunching underneath your boots while outside. I played outside in the snow a lot as a kid, be it making snow angels or riding a snow sled down the small hills at a nearby park, and of course the snowball fights and building snowman and stuff like that. Winter time was always a magical, amazing time. It would still be a magical, amazing time even as an adult and I would go move back today if I could. Doing tasks like shoveling the walkway or driveway might sound like a pain, but it's not really if you like being outside surrounded by a winter wonderland. And yeah, there's ice to watch out for, but wearing the right kind of warm, cozy boots can reduce a lot of the risk. As for driving in it? People can't fucking drive to save their lives on dry streets anyway, so adding snow and ice to the mix doesn't make a huge difference.
Fuck Texas, fuck the miserably long and hellish summers, and fuck my life that went to hell the moment I left the north.
