Same shit with the second game (Crystal), I couldn't figure out how to get past the weird tree until some older kid showed me where to get the bottle.
Then I got stuck again at a later point because I couldnt figure out how to solve the underground puzzle during the tower takeover.
This soured me so bad that I stopped playing pokemon at Gen2 and never bought any of the later games, which I played years later on emulators.
