the "difficulty" comes from enemy teams having much better and varied movesets, fields tailor made to compliment their strategies and types and the amount of accessible pokemon gimped completely
you dont pick up a single electric resist before the first gym. and if you picked a grass starter thinking itd be a good choice, the leader has fucking oricoro to dick you down
not to mention the lack of direction given to you at any time and the story being so edgy it isnt even enjoyable to poke fun at. the characters are all fucking awfully written and its even worse when you realize theyre meant to be based on the actual leaders of their shit rigged showdown league
it makes it genuinely jarring when the first leader is a literal LOLSORANDUMXDDD HAPPY XDDDD character in a ghetto, acting like this after characters are murdered on screen
