Siebold's first choice is Starmie, a relatively tame Pokemon to start out with but a safe choice nonetheless. Not exactly a bulky powerhouse, but not a jobbing weakling either. Competitively speaking, Starmie stands strong as a rapid-spinning, bolt-beaming, speed champeen who can deal quick hits in a flash with time to spare. In the right hands, any Starmie can be a monster.
"Starmie, huh?" you mumble, not exactly the kind of Pokemon you'd expect him to have. Nevertheless, you press on, "Alright, I've got just the Pokemon to take that thing out! DEDENNE, COME ON OUT!"
"Ne ne ne!~"
Dedenne pops out of his pokeball to do battle with the starfish. However, since he's so small, the water filling up the room reaches up to his cheeks. Quickly, the hamster fumbles to get his balance, unable to properly touch the floor, "N-Ne ne neeeeeee!"
"Oh, how cruel irony can be," says Siebold, "your Pokemon is so small that this aquatic battlefield completely overwhelms it! A poor calculation on your account."
That smug smirk you gave him a while ago. He's returning the favor, "It seems Grant and Valerie were just examples of beginner's luck for you! You need a true trainer to punish you, and I'll gladly play the part! STARMIE, SURF! Drown this little gerbil!"
Starmie glimmers its gemstone twice before crying out, "HOH."
