There were mons in the klefki special that didn't belong to the cast. We already have Alexa's Noivern, which basically initiated gen 6 in the anime. Aside from that it's not iconic or unique enough to fill a spot on Ash's team.
The only remaining candidate, who fits the above criteria and isn't anyone else's ace, is Honedge. If goomy leaves it will be replaced by a mega. Honedge is the last Kalos mon Ash is going to get. This isn't up for debate.
If anyone gets another fairy mon (besides dedenne) it will be Serena.
