Also went blind here, regrettably. Despite not entirely liking Oshawott, i decided to give him a chance. Dewott struck me as a neat execution of a "just-gets-bigger" deal, so it got me excited about the final evo. The final evo was one of the most disappointing moments in the series for me. Most of the time, i end up warming up to designs after some time, but with Samurott, my disdain actually grew later
on.As a Fencer, I was excited to see a proper execution of the detailed art of swordsmanship, so it was flat out baffling to me that they decided to add 5 swordsmen in the same Gen and have ALL OF THEM BEING QUADRUPEDAL. Absolute blunder. I guess Serperior is alright?
>Gen VI: FroakieThis Era represented the best times i spent on /vp/. I wasn't gonna make the mistake of going blind again, so leak season was very hype. It was a toss-up between Froakie and Chespin. Fennekin looked nice, but generic. Overall i was pretty pleased with all of them, but ended up pining for Froakie despite not liking frogs much. Mid-evo reveals were a Riot. I suddenly felt superglad i didn't go Chespin, though i did grow to like Quilladin; Fennekin wen't from Generic, to Generic Furbait; Meanwhile, Frogadier was Great and suddenly a bunch of people were on Team Froakie after initial lukewarm reaction. After Greninja's first reveal i was a bit skeptical. The tonguescarf was by far the most brilliant idea for a design feature i had ever seen, but the low quality leak made it hard to tell some features and i was pretty sure it was fake. When we got Amie leaks a couple days later, i completely fell in love. Greninja instantly became my favorite pokemon overall. Chesnaught was pretty good. Delphox was overall a bit bland (the wand not becoming a Staff is the epitome of wasted potential). Overall Great.
>Gen 7 : RowletSimilar to Gen 6, i was tiptoeing between 2 nice choices (Rowlet and Popplio) and ignoring the more generic looking one (Litten). Ended up going Rowlet.
