>>51387684It can be genuinely relaxing to train up a fresh catch, at first needing to switch train, then slowly the pokemon becomes more and more competent as you go from needing to heal every other battle to effortlessly mowing down encounters, before finally they're all caught up and are officially a member of your team. It's as others have said, it's part of the RPG experience, especially in the early games where wild pokemon were purposefully placed several levels lower than the trainers in the area.
The only grinding I find annoying is when you're team is already several levels higher than the wild mons and you're just one shotting them ad nauseam to reach a respectable level for the next boss. That said, there's literally no pokemon game where that sort of grinding is mandatory, it can ALWAYS be bypassed by smart exp investment, thoroughly seeking out every optional battle, making up for the lack of levels with strategy, etc. Whenever someone bitches about how old pokemon games were "grindy" and the exp share is "QoL that saves you from grinding" I fucking roll my eyes, retards either didn't play the old games or didn't even bother trying any of the previously mentioned work arounds, in which case they deserve the monotony of grinding anyway.
