It's the japanese name. Dynamax is called Daimax in japanese, from 大 dai (giant), so Eternatus is called Mugendaina.
Same for the upgraded versions of the gimmick, they use 巨大 kyodai (massive) and 無限大 mugendai (infinite) plus max, so Dynamax, Gigantamax and Eternamax are actually called Grandmax, Giantmax and Infinitymax

Dynamax isn't only stupid but it should also swap places with Gigantamax, since Gigantamax is obviously more dynamic than Dynamax (not only makes the mon bigger but also changes it)

What I don't get is why the translations are using the "eternal" meaning of 無限大 and not the "infinite" when the whole gimmick of the Pokemon and power is about size, not lifespan. Eternatus should have been called "Infinitus" or something like that
