It's a translation thing. 蜜 means either "honey" or "nectar" depending on the context. It doesn't really work in English.
It's similar to how the Japanese word for "berry" is きのみ, which can also mean "fruit" or "nut" depending on the context. It's why the "berries" in the anime are clearly just fruit. And why they were nuts in the tcg that one time.
