I gotta vent, guys. Blog post incoming.
I've always loved X&Y, mostly due to the sheer variety of mons available before even reaching the second gym and the fresh competitive scene. Ever since playing since Red and Blue, I never had a favorite Type until Fairies came along. I played through X&Y at least six times because of all the different ways you could play through the game (nuzlocke, wonder trade only, mono-type, no evos, so on).
I've been feeling nostalgic ever since the shitshow that was Sun and Moon, so I decided to start a new playthrough using the Wilting Y hack, and you know what?
Kalos fucking blows.
Worthless cutscenes every two minutes that drag on longer than they have any right to and add nothing of value, the clown brigade following you around and wasting all your time have zero personality between the four of them and the rest of the supporting cast isn't any better, level design feels like it was made to look good in trailers first and foremost in order to sucker people in and no area reaches its full potential, the soundtrack (barring a few excellent exceptions) is mind-numbingly dull, and every time I have to listen to

The seeds for just about everything I hate about Alola were already sprouting in X&Y and now I can't unsee it.
It hurts me to hate it all so much after having such fond memories of X&Y before.
tl;dr, used to love X&Y, hate it now.
