So there's going to be 5 rivals this Generation, but I don't think they'll all be for battling. Even with 2 rivals last generation, we only had a handful of rival battles total. It's always been this way. Unless these new games are very long, there's no way there will be enough rival battles to go around to even battle them all twice.
One of them is obsessed with the pokedex. It's safe to assume this game will have more rewards for pokedex completion than previous games.
Another is really into dancing. So he's a mini game rival? Would make the mini games a lot more interesting, especially if this means we can play them with friends, too.
