This would probably work better for a fangame and not an actual one, but I'd base a region on Maine. You can put a snowy area up north, it's got a good coast with islands, it's got a "desert", basically every biome GF likes. They also have a shitton of towns named after other countries, so it could be neat to have a Chinese inspired town, a Mexico inspired town, etc.
It's a state nobody cares about so it will never happen, but I'd still like to see it since I have a lot of fond memories of visiting relatives there.
