The guard doesn't have much to say; Route 3 follows, but it's just a short path with a few pokemon. We reach Mercure City, which doesn't have much of note aside from the Gym. I go to Route 4; a few interesting pokemon show up, such as Vulpix, Yanma and Buneary. I capture a Vulpix to try it out.
I go to the other side of the city and find another route, Route 7, which has Pokemon such as Minun, Volbeat, Electrike and Zangoose. I caught a Zangoose at the cost of most of my team dying, and I plan to catch an Electrike to replace Shinx when I get the chance.
The Gym is Bug type, but of course the Gym Guide says nothing about the gym at all. The leader's ace Pokemon was Beedrill, which managed to kill Vulpix, Shinx and almost Ekans. I get the Beetle Badge and TM09, Bullet Seed.
