Gen 8 I never liked it. I just have it bc it was a gift and it was my very first original pokémon game.
I knew it wasn't going to be perfect. But well i liked some pokémon and finally i was able to play online. Paid, online. Whatever.
But all the whole playthrought of this game for the first time... I felt it familiar.
Like if I already played this game before, and no not because "Pokémon Formula" or whatever shit you make.
It was like playing SM but rushed and less charming.
I'll start to list:
1- You do something, some you give it to an old person and then you recive the gimmick device of the gen.
2- You have a friendly n-word rival. I mean Hau has logic he's hawaiian.
3- You have a cocky/bully white rival.
But Gladion has more character on his hand than Bede had through all the game.
Marnie... Marnie, she's just r34 bait only appears like 3 times in the whole game.
And her brother my bro the Mute SINGER stoles the spotlight making her more like a plot device to move him.
In this region you don't just "go and challenge the league" no. You need some permission.
>Interesting how it has the "Challenge" name and it's not like they tried to copy the Island Challenge because man how they repeat the phrase "Gym Challenge" like if they're trying to make it sound cool.
4- Leon is Kukui but without plot twist.
Remember how you felt when at the top of Mount Lanakila, the champion was the man who made you start your journey? Well, now it's the same. But without surprise.
Leon is not a champion but it's THE CHAMPION as a character and that's it. He's a manchild and the region champion and everybody sucks his cock. Also he feels sometimes more like the main character than you.
Kukui was a relaxed man, positive and even with a wife.
5- There's an "evil team" who are just a bunch of nobodies who are just to be annoying. But, unlike Team Skull (which concept was cool, musically god and they knew they were a parody of the Pokémon Evil Team trope)...
