>>39506190Just gonna put down all the things I want as opposed to what I think would convince me to give the games a try, from most to least important.
>muh natdexYeah you said without this and it's lame but the Pokemon are the single most important part of the franchise and I love the variety of options there are. Taking that all away just ruins Pokemon for me so if they're not all in the game nothing can redeem it for me.
>Better balanceAgain, the Pokemon are the most important thing so I'd like them to actually be usable even if it's by some hyper specific niche. XY was able to make the regional expies viable both in-game without breaking it and usable to some extent in competitive, I'd love to see more of that.
>Reduce dead timeWhy do we still have so many fucking pauses in every part of the game? Every time something happens GameFreak stops the game. Take battles as an example - the game tells you the move the Pokemon is using THEN starts animating instead of doing both at the same time, after which the opposing Pokemon gets hit and we have to wait again for its health to go down instead of lowering its health while the rest of the battle goes on. Add weather conditions/abilities/stat changes and you have more pauses while the game tells you what happens again before or after actually showing that happening. This is present in every part of Pokemon and it's so ridiculous.
>Livelier and more interactive worldA lot of the shit in Pokemon just feels dead. Nothing interacts with each other, nothing has an impact on other aspects of the game and ever since XY the Pokemon are animated but not enough to give a feeling of life so the creatures end up giving off an even less active feel than literal static sprites. So better animations for Pokemon. Make it so that NPCs or Pokemon in the overworld do more than just stand there and get talked to/give items/battle, even simple things like showing somebody watering berries or having Pokemon fight each other.
