The gist of the plot was this:
Arceus, the Alpha Pokemon, supposedly created the world and everything in it. However, there is a certain infamous creature that lives outside the laws of reality and, while its origins are unknown, it is certain that it is not one of the god's creations. Missingno, a being of pure chaos and destruction, was locked away long ago by Arceus but recently, due to human tampering, the fabric of reality has begun to tear, leaving just enough space for Missingno to leak through. Arceus has summoned Mew to gather all of the elemental Plates, which have be scattered across the world, and bring them to Him before the so-called glitch pokemon breaks free.
