Everything else that makes Links awakening is still there and has some added stuff. That's not how the criteria something bad and boring is set.

DLC is just that downloadable content. Game can be rushed and cut because they can just charge you for that content instead of making sure it is there by default.
As for subscriptions it is. PC never charged you an additional subscription for using a PC. You got charged for having internet and then charged for a game and its server. PSN and XBL are barely giving content and that content is so much as it's hilarious what they want to justify charging you and millions more for.
