>>56663262I'll admit, the average person playing a Pokemon game probably won't delay evolution to learn Ice Fang 1 level earlier. However people often overlevel their starters compared to the rest of their team in the base mainline Pokemon games. Ice Fang is there for a reason.
Also I played a little bit of HG recently, and actually chose Chikorita and I didn't have a fun time doing either of the first two gyms. I could've probably fluked it with a Defense Curl + Rollout Dunsparce, but I've done that multiple times, so I forced myself to grind a Geodude and the Onix trade from Violet City to learn STAB Rock moves (and decent levels for the 2nd Gym) because I remembered Bugsy's Scyther being annoying. Maybe I've been playing too many Drayano hacks.
