There's tons of computer science-related shit to pull moves, abilities, and designs from, and a lot of them wouldn't fit well in any other type. There's also lots of room for tons of new Pokemon, with very few old ones needing to be retyped.
As far as weaknesses, resistances, and other shit goes, I am not super versed on those subjects, but there must be another anon who'd be down to give a shot, right?
