>>51527548Dunno about how to manage regional variants, you could just name them after the continent that they come from, like an "Ice-continent" Vulpix or whatever. With so many pokemon in this day and age they could probably cut down the roster and make it so that only the variant versions are available until after the main story, so you'd never see the normal versions until you are thoroughly immersed in the world and can easily tell the difference.
Could lead to a comedic moment where the team meets the original form for the first time and treat it wrong or something to inform the player of the difference.
