She's not treated as "evil", more just a "rival" which is great, but it's the fact that she's genuinely and unapologetically manipulative and mean. She openly threatens you, she actively tries to take things from you, she lies when she knows you're RIGHT THERE. "Toxic bitch" is a funny phrase for type reasons but the thing is she's actually genuinely fucking toxic, she's an awful person.
But what really shows me her writer is an absolute god, is that all the dialogue choices give you an option to just do what she wants, and her dialogue at the Galarian Star Tournament is all about how she's happy to fight with you but NOT because she gets to work with you - it's because she knows working with you will let her win and rub it in peoples face easier.
She's a manipulative liar who actively cheats with zero remorse, and she wears that shit as a badge of honor, all while taking the easy way out whenever she can. Fuck that "I want to fix her" shit. I want to enable her. I want to praise her for everything she does, inflate that ego even further, she should feel justified in every moment of her manipulation. I want to pay for whatever she wants, clothes, expensive make up, entire shopping sprees, and get little to nothing in return besides the chance to carry her bags. If there was a major, televised doubles tournament, she'd physically threaten me if I don't choose her as a partner because she knows I'm her ticket to easy wins. And she'd take the glory for it, because she deserves to.
I'm completely sincere when I say that she's the most legitimately amazing, attractive and goddess-of-a-woman character in this franchise to me.
