It's the Agatha fan theory all over again with everything going against both except for the halloween event of Masters to a degree. Unless we are assuming spirits and ghosts function differently outside of ghost pokemon in both of their cases it would take an extremely powerful soul to allow so many people to physically see, hear, and feel them possibly even more so if through a broadcasted battle. There's also the fact Nanu seems to be guarding Acerola's life even considering the orphanage which would make alot of sense if her family were in fact royals from alola or elsewhere. It's possible her family has been in hiding for generations from assassins and she's the last one left
