>>54435158Since you appreciate Gold, I'd suggest Legends Arceus. It has a slow start but at least you're whisked away to a world to explore, and its the first real revolution in pokemon gameplay and structure. I'm not saying its gritty, but the pokemon are treated like strange dangerous monsters again, for the first time since the 90s. Its my favorite switch pokemon game by a WIDE margin.
I have Violet and it was neat running around a big pokemon world but it was painfully jank and was not immersive. Just a pokemon sandbox really. Its biggest appeal is that it is the "happening" game, with DLC updates and an active online community, which you already said doesnt interest you. I got bored of it
I skipped the rest and suggest you do the same. SWSH seemed too painful to bother with even as an extreme pokemon fan. Lets GO seemed nice and polished but kiddish, idk.
BDSP is garbage. Platinum is the true remake of Diamond and Pearl and it deserves to be experienced, It is challenging and fleshed out.
